Calcium Pyrophosphate is an organic salt of calcium which affects the metabolism in mammals to treat the related diseases. It appears as a white odourless powder having nutritional values that also contains the oxides and hydroxides. Its chemical formula is Ca2O7P2 having a molecular weight of 254.1 grams per mol. Calcium Pyrophosphate is insoluble in water but can be easily dissolved in dilute hydrochloric and nitric acid. Its density is nearly equal to 3.09 grams per cubic centimetre with a pH value in between 5.5 and 7. It can be used as an acid and yeast regulator in various food processing industries.
